
Colleen Rigel is a mixed media artist whose work celebrates imagination, memory, and meaning through vibrant color and playful imagery.
Working primarily with acrylic paint and paper, she creates whimsical, folk-inspired compositions that reflect a childlike sense of wonder paired with thoughtful intention. A self-taught artist, Rigel draws inspiration from her personal experiences, faith, and family life. Her paintings invite viewers to slow down and look closely to find, embedded within the layers of color and texture, hidden words, phrases, and Scripture verses that offer messages of encouragement, reflection, and hope.
In addition to her studio practice, Rigel is a certified K–12 art educator and currently teaches art at a local elementary school, sharing her passion for creativity and visual storytelling. Rigel’s work reflects a belief in the power of art to communicate joy, healing, faith, and honors the beauty found in everyday life.
